  • Day 2: Arrival in Cairo

    Arrive at Cairo International Airport where you will be greeted and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure to relax or explore Egypt’s vibrant capital city. Cairo is one of the largest cities in Africa and offers a unique blend of ancient history and modern culture. Overnight stay in Cairo.

  • Day 3: Great Pyramids of Giza & Sphinx

    After breakfast, begin your exploration of ancient Egypt with a guided excursion to the Giza Plateau, home to the legendary Great Pyramids of Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure, built more than 4,500 years ago. These pyramids are the last surviving wonder of the ancient world. Continue to the Great Sphinx, a massive limestone statue with the body of a lion and the head of a pharaoh, guarding the pyramids for millennia. The remainder of the day is free to explore Cairo at your own pace or join optional excursions such as visiting the Grand Egyptian Museum or exploring the city at night with dinner and cultural entertainment.   • Day 4: Egyptian Museum & Khan el-Khalili Bazaar

    Enjoy breakfast before visiting the famous Egyptian Museum, which houses thousands of priceless artifacts from ancient Egypt including treasures discovered in the tomb of Tutankhamun. The museum presents more than four thousand years of Egyptian history through statues, mummies, jewelry and relics from ancient dynasties. Later, continue to Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, one of the oldest markets in the Middle East. Wander through its narrow alleys filled with spices, handmade crafts, jewelry, and traditional souvenirs while experiencing the lively atmosphere of Cairo’s historic trading district.   • Day 5: Cairo to Luxor & Nile Cruise Embarkation

    After breakfast, transfer to the airport for a domestic flight to Luxor, often described as the world’s greatest open-air museum. Upon arrival, transfer to the Nile cruise ship that will be your home for the next several days. In the afternoon, visit the impressive Temple of Karnak, a massive religious complex built over many centuries by successive pharaohs. Continue to the nearby Luxor Temple, dedicated to the god Amun and connected to Karnak by the historic Avenue of Sphinxes. Return to the cruise ship for dinner and overnight while docked on the Nile.

  • Day 6: Valley of the Kings & Sailing to Esna

    Start the day with breakfast on board before heading to the famous Valley of the Kings, the burial ground of Egypt’s pharaohs from the 18th to the 20th dynasties, including the tomb of Tutankhamun. Continue to the magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, one of Egypt’s most impressive architectural monuments located beneath towering cliffs at Deir el-Bahari. Afterwards, stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues that once guarded the entrance to a temple of Amenhotep III.     After breakfast, visit the High Dam of Aswan, one of the largest embankment dams in the world and an important engineering project that controls flooding and generates electricity for Egypt. Later the cruise sails toward Kom Ombo, where you will visit the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to the crocodile god Sobek and the falcon god Horus.
